Identify sealing and connection features
Mark thread forms, sealing faces, cone or chamfer features, O-ring grooves, and internal passages from the part drawing. These functional details should guide the machining conversation from the start.
Plan around intersecting features
Cross holes, radial ports, and internal features affect process sequence, tool access, and part handling. Note their position, diameter, depth, and deburring expectations instead of listing only the outside diameter.
Make inspection requirements traceable
Specify the critical dimensions, thread checks, surface requirements, and records expected for the project. The information helps keep discussions focused on published machine capabilities and the intended part requirements.
