Medical device components

CNC turning planning for medical device components

A drawing-first guide for discussing precision shafts, sleeves, connectors, and instrument components with defined material, dimensional, and documentation needs.

Work from the controlled drawing

Provide the current drawing revision and clearly mark critical dimensions, tolerances, material, and surface requirements. Where the project has its own controlled documents, identify the version that should govern the technical discussion.

Clarify part-handling expectations

Discuss burr limits, edge conditions, cleaning expectations, protective packaging, and handling steps that matter after machining. These requirements should be explicit rather than assumed from the part’s end use.

Prepare inspection and documentation questions

List the measurement points, required records, sampling expectations, and any project-specific documentation needed for the inquiry. Machine selection can then be discussed from the actual geometry and process needs.
